"Nice area with cannons some views but to honest a little small I ended up leaving after I did everything which took 5mins"

"Fort Mitchel is a nice piece of history and worth seeing if you are inside the Hilton Head Plantation. The fort is inside the gated community, so it's only worth visiting if you have another reason to be in the area. That said, there is some history here and plenty of signs explaining the site. The primary interest is that it is the only fort of its type built in the South by Union soldiers. The earthworks overlooking Skull Creek are still somewhat intact, and some walkways allow you to walk over them."

"They will try to turn you away at the private gate. However, access to the park is open to the public. Took us two times to get in. Ask for the restricted access pass in this photo. Don't let them deprive you and your family from access to US historical sites."
